AirVenture 2021 |

It's hard to believe it has been four years since I've been to AirVenture. Someone asked me if I was going and I immediately said no. But then I thought about it and said, why not go? So I polished up th RV -- 24 man-hours -- and flew to Oshkosh. Not wanting to participate in the Battle of Britain over Ripon on Sunday, I flew in Monday. Bruce flew commercial into Milwaukee, rented a car, and both of us camped by my plane in Homebuilt Camping. We weathered the massive thunderstorm Wedneday night in our tents. I flew out Saturday after they opened the field at 12:30. What did I do for almost five full days? I watched the afternoon airshows plus the night airshow Thursday. I went to a bunch of forums. I checked out the big four vendor buildings at least twice each. I went to the EAA museum. I drank beer at the RV Social Monday night. I drank beer at the SOS Brothers Tent. I went to the Ultralight area. I checked out the Warbirds area. I walked the entire homebuilt parking/camping area. Walked, walked, walked! |
